By the initiative of the administration of Mesrobian High School, an agreement has been signed with St. Joseph University (U.S.J) for the academic year 2009-2010. According to this agreement, a group of professors from the University’s educational department will work with the academic staff of Mesrobian, in order to restructure the current academic program, and enhance it with the latest educational materials and methodologies.

The first meeting was held on Saturday, 12th of December, 2009, at 9:00AM, in "Faradjian" auditorium. At the first stage, the U.S.J professionals began working with Kindergarten and Elementary teachers. Mr. Gregoire Kaloust, the principal of Mesrobian, welcomed the attendees and thanked the St. Joseph University for the collaboration and the efforts they are providing for the benefit of Mesrobian and Armenian students in general. He then welcomed Dr. Garine Zohrabian, the leader of the U.S.J group and the director of U.S.J educational department. Dr. Garine Zohrabian said: “Mesrobian is the first school to have such an initiative. Together, we will work hard to defeat every difficulty, close all gaps, fix negative points and further enhance the positive ones”.

Successively, Dr. Suzanne Aburjeily, a specialist from U.S.J ortopedagogical department, came forward and expressed her hopes by saying: “We will focus on the teaching methods, closely working with Mesrobian staff. After several stages, we will be able tackle all the problems related to the lessons, teachers, students and parents”.

Among the U.S.J group, there were also Nicole Abed El-Nour, Diana Ghreib and Raya Kreidi. The first meeting lasted until noon. Several other meetings, seminars and workshops will follow during the coming 8 months, all targeted towards the benefit of the Armenian students.
