Monday, 21 January 2008 - Father Antranig Granian Honored on His Golden Jubilee

Under the patronage of His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX, Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia for Armenian Catholics, on Sunday the 20th of January 2008 at 7:00 pm in the “Pierre Abou Khater” hall of Saint Joseph University, the “Massis” cultural organiztion and with the presidency of Mr. Abboud Boghos, had organized a night for the celebration of the golden jubilee of Father Antranig Granian, which coincided with the publication of the translation of his book “Anabahov orer” by “Dar El Mouawad” publication house.
After the performance of the Lebanese national anthem by “Groung” choir, Abboud Boghos stated that the Armenian Cause will never die because the Lebanese and the Armenians share so much common in their destiny. Mr. Boghos also told that the Armenians are an inseparable part of Lebanon and that Father Granian has truly loved Lebanon.
Following Abboud’s speech, the president of Haigazian University Rev. Paul Haidostian said that the work of Father Antranig Geranian has always been the result of his deepest sentiments, worries and spirituality, emphasizing the fact that he has always sought peace and tried to restore the spiritual values present in human beings.
After Haidostian’s speech, the “Groung” choir performed two songs for the audience, and after which Dr. Henry Ouweis addressed the audience by saying that Julie Mrad’s translation of Father Granian’s “Insecure days” is very authentic and that the work itself is consisted of many contemporary messages that are related to present issues.
The Lebanese artist Ghassan Rahbani performed his song “We live here” which he has dedicated to the Lebanese Armenians, after which Father Youhanna Tabet spoke on behalf of Saint Joseph University. Also Dr. Nour Salman explained that Father Granian’s worries and dreams and sincerity are an expression of his free mind.
After the book consecration (kinetson), “Groung” performed the “Yes Im Anoush Hayasdani” and “Partiro” songs.
At the end, Father Antranig Granian expressed his words of gratitude towards all those who have brought their participation in carrying out this project and working for its success.
