On Monday the 15th of October 2007, His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX Catholicos Patriartch of Cilicia for Armenian Catholics received the ambassador of Italy Gabriele Checcia inside the Armenian Catholic Partriarchate. During the meeting the parish priest of Our Lady of Annunciation church Father Vartan Kazandjian was also present.  

During the visit which lasted almost an hourt His Beatitude and the Ambassador discussed the possibilities of bringing Lebanon out of its current stalemate and holding presidential elections under normal circumstances.

In his turn the Ambassador talked about his visit to Armenia in 1992 and expressed his appreciation about the Armenain culture as well as the armenian communities in Italy that in spite of being a minority, bring their active participation in the political, cultural and econimical fields.

On His behalf , the Catholicos Patriarch gave broad information about the Armenian Catholic community in Italy, and presented the catalogue of the Roma Armenia exposition held in Vatican. 

The visit  ended with exchnage of wishes of complete peace for Lebanon.
