Saturday, 19 April 2008 - The Producer of “The Lark Farm” Visited the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate
Beirut, Lebanon
“The Lark Farm” which is co-directed by the famous Italian Paolo and Vittorio Taviani brothers, written by Antonia Arslan and the main characters played by Paz Vega, Arsine Khanjian, Morits Bleibtreu and Angela Molina, is a film dedicated to the Armenian Genocide and has been shown in different international film festivals. Grazia Volpi talked about the production and preparation of the movie and the different obstacles that it faced mostly caused by Turkey His Beatitude gave broad explanations to the Italian guest about Armenians in Italy in general and the Armenian Catholic community in particular. His Beatitude also talked about the opening ceremony of St. Gregory the Illuminator square in Vatican that took place on the 22nd of February by the blessings of the Holy Pontiff Benedict XVI. At the end of the meeting, His Beatitude expressed words of appreciation and gratitude to His guest, presenting her a symbolic souvenir. |
