On Wednesday, the 23^rd of March 2011, at 3:00 PM, the Armenian speaking members of the Armenian Catholic Mesrobian High School teaching and administrative staffs were gathered in the school’s «Farajian» auditorium to listen to Father Vartan Kazandjian’s announcement concerning the pontifical message about « the Christian education and the Armenian Catholic school’s mission » that was given by His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX Catholicos Patriarch. The message was published on the 3^rd of March 2011.

The school principal Mr. Gregoire Kaloust made a speech in which he welcomed the Most Reverend Spiritual Father and the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate «School Armenology Development Office» director Mr. Vartan Tashjian and he guaranteed that Mesrobian High School is ready to cooperate in that laborious project suggested by the above-mentioned message of the Catholicos Patriarch.

Then, the principal invited Father Vartan Kazandjian to make his speech.

The Spiritual Father analyzed the message in detail, by taking into consideration every point in the whole message. He attached special importance to this message by mentioning that, with this message, «the highest authority of the Church, which also rules the educational institutions, determines the mission of the Armenian Catholic schools and enables them to make plans for the future». He also mentioned that this message is addressed not only to the spiritual order but it is also addressed, recently, to the educational institutions and the faithful parents. This message is considered as a ten-year project.

Also, one of the projects included in the message was presented with the aim of realizing it in the near future, by mentioning that the «School Armenology Development Office» of the Patriarchate has already begun to work seriously in order to do what this message is saying.

Then, the «School Armenology Development Office» director Mr. Vartan Tashjian was invited to make his speech.

Mr. Tashjian introduced the audience to the « Armenian Word » project according to which an on-line dictionary is going to be put on the Internet in the near future and through which the users of the given website will be able to put there the videos that they have prepared concerning the Armenian words. These videos will enable the website user to learn more easily the meaning of any word instead of its written explanation only. Then, two interesting videos were shown as a first try at doing this work.

Mr. Tashjian promised that a second meeting, concerning this project, is expected in the near future.

At the end of the meeting, the school principal spoke again, in the name of the administration and the audience, to give special thanks to Father Vartan Kazandjian and Mr. Vartan Tashjian for organizing this interesting meeting.
