Friday, 17 April 2009 - MP Michel Faroun Visited the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate
On Thursday the 16th of April 2009, MP Michel Faroun visited the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate where he was received by His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia for Armenian Catholics. During the meeting representative of patriarchal eparchy His Excellency msgr.Vartan Ashkarian and eparchy assistant bishop His Excellency msgr. Hovhannes Teyrouzian were also present. The center of the conversation was the current political situation in Lebanon, before the coming local parliamentary elections. The MP expressed his political views and explained his position regarding the forthcoming elections. In his turn, His Beatitude emphasized on the importance of unity within the country, hoping that elections would be carried out on the basis of mutual respect, both of opponents and party positions that should converge on the goals of safeguarding the sovereignty of Lebanon and the unity of its people. |
