On Sunday, the 13th of May, 2007, at 11:30 am, Holy Mass was held in the Blessed Virgin Church of Constantinople during which three children from the Armenian Catholic community
received their first Holy Communion.
The sermon of the day gave His Excellency Hovhannes Archbishop Cholakian, Prelate of the Eparchy of Turkey for the Armenian Catholics, in which he emphasized on the significance of the Holy Communion in our lives. He also referred to the unconditional sacrifice and love of parents, taking into consideration that this day the children celebrated Mother’s Day by honoring their mother’s with symbolic gifts.
The Holy Mass was held by His Excellency Kevok Archbishop Khazoumian, with the participation of Father Apraham Firtaian and Der Haygaram Chekijian.
After the Holy Mass His Excellency Cholakian gave the children souvenirs.
This day will surely remain a very special day in Raffi Mimar’s, Zulal Biyikli’s and Nichole Kalpakchian’s memory.
