In spite of the current critical political situation in Lebanon which creates an unfavorable atmosphere for public gatherings, on Sunday the 27th of May 2007, at 10:00 am and on the
Day of Pilgrimage, public Holy Mass was held in the Patriarchal Clergy Institute of Bzommar, during which 6 from the Blessed Ignatius Maloyan Seminary Sebouh, Sarkis, Krikor, Yeghishe, Keghart and Mathew received the order of sub-deacon in addition to Brother Sebouh Garabedian who received the order of Deacon by the Hand of His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia for the Armenian Catholics.
The ceremony started by reading the rosary with great enthusiasm. After, His Beatitude led the procession toward the outdoor square of the convent of Bzommar.
In His sermon His Beatitude reflected upon the serving role of deacons among Christian communities.
After the Holy Mass, the newly ordained deacon Sebouh Garabedian spoke words of gratitude on behalf of his brothers first and foremost to God, then to His Beatitude and to their parents that
accompanied them through every step. And finally to the “Ardzivian” congregation that welcomed them in open arms.
Furthermore, the seminarians received greetings in the convent hall with wishes of higher ranks in priesthood after which they all had lunch along with their relatives.
