Under the patronage of His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of Armenian Catholics, on Sunday the 3rd of August 2008, at 8:00 pm, in the Armenian catholic patriarchate yard, H.G.M. celebrated its 23rd anniversary. On this special occasion a banquet was held during which His Excellency Msgr. Boghos Kousan, His Excellency Father Raphael Mouradian, and Rev, Father Antranig Granian as well as the chairman of the United Nations Peace Federation for the Middle East Mrs. Hermine Shellen and huge crowd of supporters were present.

The chief of H.G.M. Achrafieh Mher Kalenderian mentioned in his speech that being part of H.G.M. is not just a pastime but it is where today’s youth is taught to become the responsible adults of tomorrow, where the character of each and every member is formed and the spirit of devotion and sacrifice is marked in each one.

The “escape” band performed songs in different languages spread a cheerful atmosphere among the crowd.

Father Granian also congratulated the 23rd anniversary of H.G.M. mentioning that recently he had the opportunity to found a H.G.M group in Armenia as well.

Father Vartan Kazandjian and Mher Kalenderian presented souvenirs to honor the “escape” band and chef Elie Haddad who had prepared the dinner.

After cutting the cake prepared for this occasion, His Beatitude congratulated the 23 years of continuous work and evaluated as well as expressed words of appreciation about the role of H.G.M. inside the Armenian catholic communities.
