On Thursday, the 15th of June, Australia’s New Ambassador in Lebanon ,Lyndall Sachs, visited the Armenian Catholic Patriarchate, where she was received by His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX Catholicos Patriarch.
During the meeting that was attended also by the members of the Eparchie’s commission, His Beatitude gave broad information to His guest about Armenians, especially the ones living in the diaspora and about the Armenian Catholic community, emphasizing also the importance of claiming the World Recognition of the Armenian Genocide. Afterwards, the conversation went on about the present situation in Lebanon, the various social and economic difficulties created ,as well as the International and Regional current issues. The importance of dialogue was also mentioned to calm the worries of the International Community.
The Ambassadress expressed her appreciation of Armenians, praising the way they cling to their culture and traditions, along with adapting to the environment and circumstances of the countries they live in.
