Friday, 4 April 2008 - The Youth Carried the Pilgrim Cross to the St. Savior Church in Bourj Hamoud
Beirut, Lebanon
This year, the whole world prepares for the World Youth Day which will take place in Sydney from the 15th to the 20th of July. The Armenian youth is also getting prepared for this importnat event. The cross was brought from Bzommar to Our Lady of Annunciation church in Geitawi a few months ago. On Tuesday the 18th of March 2008 at 8:00 pm, the youth association of the Annunciation church with the initiative of Father Vartan Kazandjian carried the cross from Ashrafieh to the municipality square in Bourj Hamoud where the parish priest of St. Savior church Father Sarkis Tavitian , along with the assistant parish priest was waiting. They were surrounded by the choir, the scout troops and members of youth associations as well as the auxiliary women’s groups The Cross was carried to the St. Savior church and placed at the altar. Father Sarkis spoke about the value and the meaning of the Cross in the life of Christians. Today the Cross is placed in Bourj Hamoud and prepares for the coming missionary round.
