Tuesday, 25 March 2008 - Holy Thursday Celebrations at Our Lady of Annunciation Church
On Holy Thursday, the 19th of March 2008, at 4:00 pm, in Our Lady of Annunciation church in Geitawi, His Excellency Msgr.Vartan Ashkarian performed the Washing of the Feet. And at 9:00 pm, again in the Annunciation church, the agony of Christ was mentioned in a new and particular way. The parish priest of Annunciation church Father Vartan Kazandjian, this year wanted to approach the youth and give them a bigger part in participating with the agony of Christ, because Christ was tortured and crucified for the sake oh humanity and its sins. Vartan Aznavourian read from the Gospel of John and after each interval a candle was lighted symbolizing what he read. Songs and hymns dedicated to that day were sung by Father Vartan, Mary Noel Keshishian and accompanying them Alek Terjanian on the keyboard. The evening had a mystical nature that inspired the youth spiritually.
