Thursday, 17 April 2008 - His Beatitude's Visit to Armenia

On Tuesday the 8th of April 2008, His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX Catholicos Patriarch of Cilicia of Armenian Catholics arrived in Yerevan, with the company of the  Patriarchal Vicar of the Partriarchal Clergy Institute of Bzommar Rev. Father Raphael Mouradian.

On the first day of His visit, His Beatitude met with His Holiness Catholicos Karekin II Supreme Patriarch of All Armenians, and later that day He celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Armenian Catholic Parish of St. Gregory Naregatsi Church where he met with the believers.

On the 9th of April 2008, He had lunch with His Excellency Msgr. Neshan Karakeheyan, the Bishop of Eastern Europe, Armenia and Greece. His Beatitude met with all the clergymen of Armenia and Georgia.

On the same day, His Beatitude participated in the official ceremony during which Serg Sarkisian the newly elected president of Armenia took his presidential oath and later at night His Beatitude participated in the gala dinner which took place in the presidential palace for this special occasion.  
 

 
On the next day, His Beatitude visited the grave of the late Arch. Nerses Der-Nersessian in Panig village, where a memorial service was held for his soul. On the same day His Beatitude visited the Armenian Catholic  parish in Gyumri, the hospital in Ashotsk and the Armenian Sister's Academy.

On the morning of the 11th of April, His Batitude received the ambassador of Lebanon in Armenia Mr. Gabriel Jiara. He also visited the Mekhitarian center in Yervan and in the afternoon His Beatitude celebrated the Diivine Liturgy in the chapel of the children's home of the Sisters of Mother Teresa. His Beatitude also met with the students of Nersessian Monastery.

The same day in the afternnon, His Beatitude returned to His residence.
