Boghos Petros XIII Terzian
(1910-1931)
The patriarch of massacres period

After one year of his patriarchate, in Rome, he assembled in 1911 the national synod, during which were clarified the jurisdictions and the ritual regulations.
But the synod fathers, after returning to their eparchies were the victims of the genocide of 1915. 19 eparchies, 156 churches, 110 missions, 148 schools, 32 convents, 6 seminaries, 300 priests, 270 clergymen and women and thousands of believers died.
After the genocide , in 1928, a meeting was held in order to reestablish the Armenian Catholic Church during which , it was decided to name Beirut a Patriarchal eparchy and to return the patriarchal seat to Bzommar which was transferred from the same place before 60 years , full of hopes.
